On a recent weekend, the Young Persons Office took 80 intermediate aged young people from all around the Diocese to St John’s, Feilding for an awesome weekend-long camp. It was a great opportunity for the campers to learn about what their calling as a young person could be, by hearing stories from others who are making a difference in the world. They experienced how amazing it is to pray for others in their small groups, which contributed to creating an amazing community as well as a festival feel to the entire camp.
For the young adults and young leaders who went, they had a chance to disciple their intermediate aged peers. An incredible and unexpected outcome of the music workshop was that in the following worship time, the campers who had attended the workshop lead the rest of the camp in an awesome time of worship.
We are incredibly thankful to St John’s, as well as the Diocese, for subsidising the camp so that a large group of our last, lost and least young people were able to attend. Thank you also, to all who prayed in lead up to The Gig – we really appreciate it.
