Synod dinner raises funds for Trade School Kitchen

On Saturday night, Synod members attended a Martin Bosley-created dinner at Chilton St James School and were invited to contribute donations to raise funds for Trade School Kitchen.  Trade School Kitchen is a brand new cafe in Naenae, started by the founder of People’s Coffee to provide employment opportunities for former inmates of Arohata Women’s Prison.  This venture follows on from their involvement in providing barista training to inmates in the prison under contract to the Department of Corrections.

The dinner raised approximately $8,000 for the cafe venture.
