Reverend Jane Heyes, Parish of Shannon-Foxton

Reverend Jane Heyes, Parish of Shannon-Foxton

Bishop Justin, Bishop Eleanor and the Parish of Shannon-Foxton have pleasure in announcing the appointment of the Reverend Jane Heyes as Priest in Charge.  Jane is currently holding a Permission to Officiate licence and is ministering in Levin.

Jane’s induction service will be in All Saints Church, 53 Main Street, Foxton on Sunday 30 September at 4.00pm.  Clergy are invited to robe in alb and red stoles.  A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow at the conclusion of the service, and we extend an invitation to all.

Jane and her husband Julian began ministry as youth leaders in Karori, and were encouraged in ministry through the work of St Aldate’s church Oxford UK as students, then worked as missionaries in Harare Zimbabwe with BCMS (now Crosslinks).  They returned to NZ and since then have been involved in parish leadership and ministry.

Jane began her ordination journey as Children and Families minister in the Parish of Levin as deacon in 2008 and priest from 2009.  She undertook theological study at Laidlaw College and has been involved in the Greenhouse pioneer ministry alongside families and the marginalised.  She stays connected within the local community through her part time teaching role and her afterschool ministry.

Jane is looking forward to developing new relationships in the Shannon-Foxton community and supporting the dedicated teams serving there.
